Saturday

Breakfast
2 egg whites
2 strips of turkey bacon..yummy

Lunch
1 cup cottage cheese
Small lunch because I slept in really late today.

Dinner
Pizza- It was so good! I saved most all of my points today just for the pizza.

I'm really getting a workout today as I am stripping the wallpaper off my bathroom walls. The wallpaper is coming off easily..but the glue is what is taking the elbow grease.

Goodbye 20 pounds...!

Yay me! I've lost 20 pounds in one month. Doing the weight watchers plan isn't so bad. You eat what you want but in moderation. Yesterdays meals were...

Breakfast
Yogurt-Dannon Light & Fit strawberry
1/2 cup granola with flaxseed
1/2 cup skim milk

Lunch
Lean Cuisine- alfredo
small apple
1 cup steamed broccoli

Snack
Fiber One bar- these are really good!

Dinner
A nice sized salad with hard boiled egg whites, lean turkey, and cheese with ranch dressing
A small piece of country fried steak with about a tablespoon of white gravy
1/2 cup of baked and sliced potatoes.

All in all i think i did OK with the meals but I need to put more fruits in my diet. I'm not a big fruit eater. I drink a lot of water throughout the day but still I'm drinking the sweet tea, just not as much. The exercising part was cut in half this week due to i'm overly tired from getting up at 4am. But I make up for it doing housework and getting more walking in at work.

Small update...

I'm doing the weight watchers program...I'm still trying to get used to all the "points" I have to keep track of. It's not so much of keeping track as it is remembering to figure how many points something is. As I get better acquainted with the totals and such I will start posting my daily menus and points.. and I'm still thinking if I want to post my weight numbers. Its important to keep a food journal.. that way you know what works and what doesn't.

I had whole grain pasta for the first time for dinner tonight.. I know sounds tasty right? Well actually it really is good. The flavor isn't all that different than regular pasta. It does though seem a bit more tender. I also had a salad with the spaghetti. Quite filling.

The workouts slowed down after last Wednesday. I "over-did" it on Wednesday morning with 2 miles on the elliptical and 2 and a half miles on the bike with weights in between. My calves were crying mercy.

What a day

I did pretty good today..at least with plenty of exercise.

5:15am- woke up

5:45am- got to work

5:50am- started working out. I did a mile on the eliptical thingy, then tried out a stair stepper for about 15 minutes.

7am- I started working.

7:30 ish- My plan was to have raisin bran for breakfast...but the milk I brought with me to work in my trusty little thermos..all spilled out into my purse. So no breakfast..and no more trusty thermos. I ended up eating my lunch for breakfast which was a baked potato.

10:15am- back to the gym and I lifted weights, only for 15 minutes as my break is only that long..but I figure its better then nothing. But at least now I know what all the equipment is for and how to use it. Thanks Deb!

1pm- Lunch time..and since I had lunch for breakfast I had a fiber one bar and some pretzels..I know.. so healthy.

3:15pm- back to the gym and I did the stair stepper for 10 minutes.

5:15- I'm at the eye doctor's office..nose piece came off my glasses.

5:45pm- I'm home cooking dinner.

6:45pm- Don't even ask what i had for dinner...I'll just say its back to the gym tomorrow.

Let the journey begin.......

I've started this blog in hopes that I can keep track of my weight loss success or non-success. I have faith in myself that I can loose the weight that I need and want to loose. I have the will to "stick to it", and feel better about myself. Hopefully the non-success of weight loss won't pertain to much to me. I expect myself to "mess up" from time to time, because none of us are perfect, but I also expect myself to get right back at it and continue on.

My reasons for wanting/needing to lose weight are simple.
  • I want to feel better about myself. I want to be able to look in a mirror and say "damn! you look hot", instead of trying to hide the imperfections of rolls and cellulite.
  • Plus size clothing sucks! Not to mention expensive and sometimes "granny" looking.
  • Better health...heart disease, high cholestrol and diabeties are no joke. They are all very real possibilities.
So this blog will serve as a place that I can keep myself on track and who knows, maybe even motivate others to be healthy.
